Christmas Unboxed

I know this post may be late but Merry Christmas anyways. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I had a very weird but alright Chr:istmas this year. This year I spoiled my mom and my family but this year it was focused on my mom. She deserved everything we gave her. She's my backbone and my lifeline.
For those of you who don't know me personally, I have two jobs and I work seven days a week so I don't have much time to do anything. But I got up at 8 am and I did what I had to do. I went to several stores and picked up everything for everyone on my list this year. Let's say my hands were about to fall off. I had a lot of bags and they were pretty heavy for one person to carry by themselves.
I was pretty satisfied with everything I got for everyone. Shopping for everyone was pretty easy actually. My mom likes simple stuff and things for the house and I got her things along that line with a card and money . My dad got clothes and money, my sister got slippers, a bath bomb, and a big teddy bear. My brother got an Ed Hardy set with a body wash. I also treated myself with a pair of new sneakers, make up from bh cosmetics and Face washes and what not. (I'll be doing another post with those items and their reviews.) I am in love with my makeup and I cannot wait to play around with everything and create new looks.

The things I treated myself to was:
1) The Make It Pop Steal which includes Pop Art Color Extreme : 24 Color Pressed Pigment, 10 pc Pop Art Brush Set + a Free Surprise gift! All of that was only $17.95
2) The Eye Essential Steal: Smokey Eyes - 28 Color Eyeshadow Palette + Essential Eyes - 28 Color Eyeshadow Palette + Eye Essential - 7 Piece Brush Set. And that cost $18.95

In order to get free shipping I had to spend $50 I believe and that's what I did. I also added a brush cleaner, color lock long lasting matte lipstick; they were buy 2 get 1 free. So I got them in Seduction, which is a dark red, Dark Rose, which is a brighter red, and Blushing, which is a bright nude color.

I was super excited to open my package when it came the day before Christmas but I had to wait til midnight to open them. This was the first time I ordered from BH Cosmetics. I heard many good comments and reviews about this company and I thought It was time to give them a try.

The last thing I got myself was a workout shoes from Champion. Its green, black, and white. Its pretty and very comfortable.

My Best Friend got me 2 palettes from BH Cosmetics and lets say I loveeee my best friend. I already had too many nude palettes so she got me 2 palettes with many different colors. It was the First and Second edition 120 eyeshadow palette. So 240 eyeshadow colors to choose from. What more can a girl ask for right? I have yet to play with these beautiful colors.

My parents got me a fitbit charge watch in black, which monitors your steps, sleep, its also an alarm clock, and it measures how far you walk throughout the day. The great thing is that it is black and it works with my phone, the Galaxy 6 Edge +. My mom also surprised me with two face blenders. They are so cute and they will make things so much easier when I apply my foundation and concealer.

My neighbor bought me a black Polaroid camera, film, and a carrying case. I'm in love with this and its something I've always wanted.
This Christmas was a very simple one and I was very happy to spoil my mom as well as my family. I'm so thankful for everything my family has done for me not only in the past year but for my entire life. They mean everything to me and I am glad I was able to spend another Christmas with them by my side.

I almost forgot that my coworker Destiny, gave me Two Faced Most Loved set. I fell in love honestly. I never owned any products from Too Faced, so this was something I was not expecting. I can't wait to play around with these beauties! This awesome set includes Hangover Face Primer, Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer, Better Than Sex Mascara, and Melted Long Wear Lipstick.

April, another awesome coworker gave my a Sephora makeup bag, to make things even better - she stuffed it with samples. The samples included Urban Decay's setting spray, Stella's sample perfume, Lancome excessive Black mascara sample size, NARS Audacious Mascara, Sephora's oil infusion Lipgloss/Stain, Hairdresser's invisible oil, Glamglow Daily hydrating cleanser, and finally Jack Black Intensive Therapy Lip Balm. As for these I have not tried them out.

Make up Haul #1

Hello and welcome back to my blog! For those of you who know me or have sent my Instagram, facebook, and/or snapchat, then you know that I have become more addicted to makeup. So for those of you who haven't seen anything well now you know.
I never did cyber Monday before so this year since I was working more I though maybe I'd give it a shot and I did and I regret nothing. I was looking into shopping for makeup online and I received an email from Eyes Lips and Face (elf) and they were holding a half off everything sale and to get free shipping you had to spend $35. First I was like should I do or not? I put stuff in my cart and then I left. I was debating whether or not I should do this. So the next day I put everything in my cart and I put the code in and my cart total ($35) was cut in half ($17.50). This meant I had to add more items to my cart. It literally took me the whole day to figure out what I wanted. When I finally was able to get back up to $35 I was panicking and I was having an anxiety attack.
I'm a person who doesn't like to spend too much money. I like saving up. So when I was checking out my heart was pounding in my head. The total was $38.50, this includes the sale tax on the items. Plus if I spend too much my Fiancée always gives me a lecture. But after I did this I was super excited to get my package.
I received an email saying my items were shipped days later and last night I was blabbing to my Fiancée about it and this morning I woke up to my beautiful package. I literally did a happy dance.
I ran into my room and started snapchatting it to my friends. Once I opened it I fell in love even more. I only had a few items of elf cosmetics and ever since getting these items I'm more in love. I didn't even want to open anything, they looked so perfect.

Book Review # 5 - E. L James - "Grey"

For those of you who don't know about this book, it is the fourth book in the Fifty Shades Of Grey series. This was written in Christian Grey's point of view of fifty shades. I was pretty excited when I saw this in Barnes and Noble. I immediately wanted to sit down and read it. The cover aline grabbed my attention. It was up close shot of a man's eyes.
I don't know if I'm the only one who loves the look and feel of new books but I wanted to buy it and just keep it for my collection. Grey was a thick soft covered book that made me so happy to hold.
While I was reading the book I received many negative comments toward the books which didn't bother me much. It was pretty annoying but I didn't let it bother me. Some comments included how crappy the writing was and how I'm reading a smut book. Personally I got over the fact that it wasn't written to perfection. I personally enjoyed reading all the books. I thought the story line and plot was interesting and it kept me reading it.

I have received many negative comments/feedbacks about the Fifty Shades Of Grey book series. Yes, it could have been written better grammatically but regardless I really enjoyed reading this book. I couldn't put it down, I read it whenever I could.
I'm not usually a person to read much of romance and actually enjoying it. The Fifty Shades Of Grey series was more than romance it was erotic, which made things easier to read to and relate to (not what you guys think). The emotions running not only in Grey but all the books made me feel what Anastasia was feeling.
This book made everything clearer and made everything make sense. In the three other books it was in Ana's view point so we didn't get the reasoning behind Grey's actions or choices. But with this book in his perspectives we were able to understand his reasoning for a lot of things. I loved reading the first couple of pages because it showed his attraction to Ana right away. Even though he wanted her as a submissive, the feeling of being protective and wanting to be with her made me melt.
The series reminds me of another erotic series similar to Fifty Shades. The Crossfire series is by Sylvia Day and It's about a girl who lands a job in a multi million dollar company working and earning her living. She one day bumps into the owner of the company and is the richest man alive. From the first time they laid eyes on each other they became addicted and drawn to each other. These books are erotic but it's more romance than anything.
Personally I'd chose the crossfire series over the Fifty Shades Of Grey series. I just feel like the crossfire series was written better and has more realistic events. But if basing off everything else I like Fifty Shades Of Grey better for the erotic scenes.
Now for the rating, I would give Grey a 3.6 out 5 rating.

Book Review # 4 James Patterson & Maxine Paetro - "Confessions of a Murder Suspect"

Let me say first hand that this is the first book by James Patterson that I have read. I've heard his books are very good and now for myself, I can say that he has a way of writing that doesn't bore you to death. Honestly, I had my doubts about this book from the start. I thought I was going to put this book down but It was the total opposite in fact. I enjoyed reading this book and I read every single day and I was able to complete it fairly quickly.

I think I'll start giving each book a rating from 1 to 5, one being very bad and five being amazing. Of course there will be books with in between ratings. So this book would be a 3.5. It was a good book to read and I will read the other books that follow this series. But it isn't that good where I would sit down and read it again. I am a person who can't sit down and read a book or even watch a movie twice. It would have to be really amazing in order for me to actually want to read it a second time. Sadly this book wasn't going to change my mind about re-reading it in the future.

I would still recommend it to people to read. It was written for a teenager and it would be perfect for teens getting into reading more. I think that was a bit of a problem for me, I thought it was a little bit too easy of a read for me, I do enjoy myself a good challenge when it comes to reading. It started with the conflict on the first page. That was something I liked actually, it did not bore me on bit. Since it was an easy read I was able to get through the book pretty quickly. Keep in mind the chapters only lasted a few pages. Regardless of how long the chapters were or how many pages were there in total, it was a interesting book that was able to keep my attention for the past few days. P.S The book is written in perspective of the daughter Tandy Angel.

So imagine waking up to find your parents dead. There was no evidence of someone breaking and entering, what would you think? What would you feel? This is what the children of Malcolm and Maud Angel had to face, a very harsh awakening. Since there was no evidence of breaking and entering, imagine how you would feel to think one of your siblings were capable of murdering their parents? Since the book was written in Tandy's point of view, it was written like it was her diary, or her story. She writes like someone is there, which is pretty cool.

So overall finding out who was behind the death of the Angel parents were pretty weird. I wouldn't have expected it to end the way it did. Just say there was a happy ending in a sick kind of way. Until next book review!

Book Review # 3 - Delilah S. Dawson - "Servants of the Storm"

Book Review - Delilah S. Dawson - "Servants of the Storm"

First look at this book made me want to read it. I'm a person who loves dark art, gothic art, or anything along those lines. So when I first came across this book, it simply grabbed my attention. After attempting to read Identity Theft by Anna Davis, I bec
ame very skeptic of it and didn't know whether or not to actually read this. But I'm glad I did. Back to the cover page, I think this is the main reason I even picked up this book in the first place.

When I first began reading this book, I didn't know what to expect, so I just went for it. I was sitting on the train heading to work, I started to read and I got lost inside. I did not want to stop reading this book. It was pretty hard to stop, I wanted to continue. After work on my train rides back home, I make sure I take my book out and read. I even kept a highlighter handy for quotes that I found perfect for a new instagram photo. There are many pages highlighted and folded up because the book is really good.

If I had to rate it from a 1 to 5, with 1 being really bad and five being the best book ever, it would have to be a solid 4. Even though it is a young adult book, I really did enjoy reading it. I would recommend it to friends, family, and anyone who wants to find a good book to read.

I think I found it very interesting because I could kind of relate to the main character, Dovey. She got made fun of because she kind of lost her mind when she lost her best friend in a storm. She became known as crazy, in which she was put on medication and that made her memory hazy. I personally would be like that if I lost someone very close to me. But the whole demon thing kind of threw me off. I'm very harsh about books dealing with unrealistic things like demons and humans having babies and creating a baby to use. I'm a person who rather read about true crimes, horror, or mystery over romantic or science fiction. But regardless of that I was able to complete the book and say that I did in fact enjoy this book.

Book Review # 1 & # 2 - R. L. Stine - "Don't Stay Up Late" & Anna Davis - "Identity Theft"

Book Review # 1 - R. L. Stine - "Don't Stay Up Late"

Hands down this is my favorite author no matter how old I get. I am a big horror/mystery fan so growing up his books were able to keep my attention and keep me at the edge of my seat. I was pretty excited about seeing his newer work on the library shelf. I had to pick it up and it was the first book I had to read. The book was brand new and if you read my previous post, you'll know how much I love new books. It was a hard cover and I enjoyed everything about it; from the look to what was written within the pages.
It was a very easy read and even though it isn't my favorite type of story, I still enjoyed it. I can't wait for more of this work to be published in the coming years. Even though he is my favorite author there were some things that were good and there were things that were bad.
        Pros

1)  It's always written in the most direct and properly unlike other books I've read.
2) It plays with your mind a little.
3) Its easy to read and each to get through

      Cons

1) Its very predictable
2) It's not my kind of story that I'll read on the regular

The story/plot behind this is a girl, Lisa, 16 years old gets into a car accident with her mom, dad, and her dog Morty, and she loses her dad in the car accident. After getting to the hospital she suffers a concussion, which causes her hallucinations and nightmares. She starts to see a creature/ demon when she went to sleep one night. Then her therapist suggests for her to get a after school job to keep her mind off of things. So she starts to babysit this eight year old, Harry. He has to be asleep by 8 and no later, apparently cause of his condition. While she babysits, she sees the creature and her friends end up dying. She gets questioned and she comes clean about the creature, in which no one believes her.
blah blah blah blah, you know how this story ends, but regardless I am still a child at heart and I will always have a special place in my heart for his books.

Book Review # 2 - Anna Davis - "Identity Theft"

I literally couldn't get into this book. I've tried to but It wasn't able to grab me in. So I stopped at chapter 3 and returned the book. I wanted to read it but wasn't able to finish it. I'm not saying it was bad but it wasn't for me. I don't have much to say about this book, it had an alright preview and plot but like I said before- the book wasn't for me.

Book Haul #1

I have always been an avid reader and an enjoyer of books. I love having them and I love the way some of them look. I love new books, the ones that never been worn down with age. I don't know what it is but I really find satisfaction with books. Being a reader I enjoy going to the library and sit there reading for hours on end. I think reading has become a very seldom thing among many peoples daily life. When I say reading I mean actually sitting down and picking up a book to simply enjoy without any distractions. Lately I haven't been able to spend the time I want reading let along a lot of other things. But I'm trying my best to keep this up and continue to grow and learn.

Today I went to the library and picked up some books and I will sit down and read. I made a stop in the young adults section of the library because I'm a big kid at heart. I got pretty excited because I saw my favorite author of all time book on the shelf, R. L. Stine. So I picked up a total of six books. They are a descent size and it may take me some time to actually get through. I was thinking I could do book reviews of every book I read. It would be fun to write book reviews again so why not. Welcome

I have never been good at keeping blogs or keeping certain social medias up to date. I wouldn't say it is because I have a very good social life, but its the total opposite. I don't have a social life really, I barely see anyone, I'm too busy working or just being tired. On top of being really tired I have a crappy laptop and I barely use my regular computer, which makes it hard to keep my blogs updated. Even though I'm on my phone basically all day that should making a blog very easy right? Well it doesn't actually. I don't know why I find it hard to keep my blogs up to date with things.

So today I am going to try and keep this blog up to date with things. I don't know whether to keep this blog as a poetry blog, a book blog, or a make up blog. I feel like everyone is into make up now and is trying to become a make up artist. Well in my case I'm not, I just enjoy make up and dressing up. I have no intentions to make that a career, its more of a simple hobby that I enjoy. Writing on the other hand is my love, I would love to make a career out of writing someday. I know I'm not the best writer there is and I can accept that but I am a person with a lot of ideas and there is always room for improvement. I am ready to try and grow with this blog. whether or not people actually take the time to read my blog I will try and keep this more up to date.

This blog might be a mix of different things, nothing in specific but just what I feel like. It may be a book review or it may be new make up buys, or it may be something I bought. Whatever it may be there will be a blog on here about it.
