Book Review - "Hate You" - Graham

I wouldn't call this a very hard read. It was a very easy read and such a small book that I finished it within the day I bought it. Since the book was small, this post will be short.
I don't have much to say about this book it wasn't amazing and wasn't garbage. I was in my fiance's school library and they had a two carts filled with books that said each book is $0.50 or three for $1 and of course I couldn't resist this deal. This book story grab my attention over the other books.
While I waited I decided to start this quick read while I waited. I finish this book within an hour (of course I got distracted). I honestly found this book pretty boring. It was about a girl who has hate for her father due to the fact that he choked her and made her life change. She is no longer able to sing with the beauty she wants held.
So I will have to read this book a 2.5 out of 5 stars. Just personally did not enjoy reading this book.

Book Review - Prozac Nation - Elizabeth Wurtzel

Prozac Nation

Hello once again to my blog, if you’re new hello, my name is Sasha and I blog mostly about books and book hauls that I do. But before I get into the topic/idea for this post lets go off topic for a little (not really but ok). Lately I have been buying books and I don’t have anymore space for them. But that probably wont stop me from buying more books.
Anyways back to the review, I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this book. I literally fell in love during the first couple of pages. The book that I will be discussing is “Prozac Nation” by Elizabeth Wurtzel. This book is simply amazing and this was the first memoir that I have ever read. I’m so thankful for picking up this book.
I was in Long Island and I went to a thrift store and I was picking up a bunch of books for such low prices. This literally made me the happiest girl alive. it felt like Christmas came early (Keep in mind I bought all the books in early December). Normally I don’t read books that I own first, I usually borrow most of the books that I read first from the library. But since I didn’t have any library book to read I quickly grabbed any book on my shelf and it happened to be Prozac Nation.
I literally treated this book like a baby, I wouldn’t let anything happen to it. It was in perfect condition and since it was my own copy I had to keep it that way. I literally can’t tell you how much I love this book. I connect to this book on so many levels and its pretty scary.
Elizabeth is battling depression along with multiple other diagnoses. She takes you on a journey with every low she battles. Its like you are there experiencing it all for yourself. She goes into detail with how she’s feeling and she even compares it to certain things, which is really cool and makes you understand what she’s coping with so much better.
I don’t want to spoil anything for those of you who haven’t read this book but want to. But just saying this book will take you on a journey of pain, anger, uncontrollable emotions, and the pains of growing up with mental problems.
Rating time, if you haven’t figured it out already I am going to have to rate this book a 5 out of 5 star rating, the reason why I'm rating it this is because its something I can relate to and it makes me want to read more and more.

Thank you again for taking the time and reading this post. It means a lot and I'm trying to stay on top of my reading this year. So stay tuned.

Book Review - Because You Are Mine - Beth Kery

Because You Are Mine – Beth Kery

Just a notice that this blog will indeed contain some spoilers, so if she want to read this book then don’t go on with this article and take a look at another post.
SMUT! That’s what they say when I decide to read books along the erotic line. Erotica happens to be one of my favorite genres to read. This genres keeps my attention (not only for the sex but,) for the romance and the dominant side of someone. I find that pretty hot in a person and it shows more about themselves without having to say much.
Because You Are Mine is a series that contains 4 books and it revolves around Ian Noble and Francesca. In the first installment of the series, it introduces Ian and Francesca and their irresistible relationship that each holds for one another. Francesca is an artist earning her own living and in order for her to make ends meet, she sells her art pieces to pay the rent each month. She happened to win an award that was chosen by Ian himself.
Of course he is a very rich man and she’s working to make ends meet. Once she says eyes on Ian, all those feelings emerge and never leave. She becomes star strucked by his beauty and attire. You know how it goes; she falls in love and he wants to just keep it strictly to just sex.
This book reminds me a lot like Fifty Shades of Grey. A lot of erotic books do. They all seem to follow a similar outline just different information and people. I have read a lot of books and I'm not saying that they’re all the same, no they’re not but some are very similar.

Now onto ratings, I would have to give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It wasn’t the worst thing to read but I did enjoy reading this and I will finish the series. (I already own book one, two and four I believe.)

Should I or should I not?

Lately I have been obsessed with watching YouTube videos on book hauls, book wrap-ups, and things along those lines. Now I wanted to do the same thing since I happen to buy, own, and borrow a lot of books. So with that I might as well make a YouTube dedicated to books since I already have social media sites dedicated to books and book dedicated things. So what is stopping me exactly? Oh, many, many reasons telling me not to.
Reason #1 is my appearance. I’m very self-conscious of the way I look. I don’t think highly of myself and it makes me depressed knowing/thinking people will be talking negatively about me.
Reason #2 is popularity. I know this shouldn’t matter but it’s on my mind and I’m scared that my YouTube channel won’t go anywhere. I automatically assume it’s because I’m ugly and that’s why people don’t watch any of my videos. I feel like you have to look a certain way or you must have a skill in order for your YouTube to get any videos. I want to do a YouTube channel dedicated to books because books make me happy. Books create a safe haven for me and I want to share that with you guys all around the world.
Reason #3 is a camera/computer. I have all of those things and a phone but the problem is that I took down my computer and I honestly won’t have the time or the energy to edit videos. I know that sounds bad but having two jobs can be very tiring. Plus for my camera I don’t have the wire to upload to my computer if I had my computer up and running. But I do have my phone to at least upload videos and try to edit some of them. I don’t know how far that would get me in the booktube world.
Reason #4 is entertainment. I am very paranoid that my videos will be boring and no one will even take the time to watch them or subscribe to my channel.
Reason #5 is I’m scared. I do not know what to expect and sometimes I hate not knowing. Well I kind of have an idea where my booktube will go but it won’t be good sadly enough.
So guys I need your honest opinion about whether or not I should go and create a channel dedicated to books or just stick to my blog? So please leave me a comment or even shoot me an email giving your honest opinion about this. My contact information is SashaaMonique@gmail.com

Book Review - Stephen King - Misery

 Misery Book Review

Let’s say the only reason I actually finished this book was because I never like to leave books I already started and I wanted to see how long she would have kept him hostage without getting caught. I had a few issues with this book. The first issue was how annoying the fan was. I literally forgot her name; she was so selfish and rude. I literally wanted to punch her in the face. She kept threatening to leave him to die and I was thinking if you kill him then that means no more books for you. Then you would lose out in the end of it all.
I found the plot to be really interesting, interesting enough to make me pick up and book and actually read it. Who wouldn’t want to read a book about a crazy obsessed woman holding her favorite author captive? I mean c’mon. so I picked it up and I was pretty eager to read it. Sadly enough I was disappointed, actually no I was let down by King due to the fact I am kinda obsessed with his books lately.
The beginning started off slow and honestly I did not want to finish this at all. It has nothing to do with the writing but how slow It was and I found it pretty stupid how he couldn’t have done something better or different to get out of their quicker. I mean since I have watched a lot of horror movies, I learned on what not to do when you are in a certain situation like he was.

I don’t have much to say about this book anymore. So lets go straight to the rating and end it there. So to give this book a rating, I would have to rate it a 2.5 out of 5 star rating. Again this is not saying that the book is crap or it was written poorly, but for my preferences it wasn’t a good read for me.

Book Review - Stephen King - Carrie

I recall watching the original Carrie, and let's say I was not impressed at all. The movie bore me, it made me not want to finish it, and it made me not want to read the book. When I first watched this movie I have not read any book by Stephen King. I attempted to but failed miserably at finishing Cujo. But lately I have been on a Stephen King reading galore!

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who has not read the book or seen the movie. My recent blog posts have been book reviews on the books I read by King. My friend actually recommend this book to read and I want to say Thank you April! Not only was it an easy book to read but it kept my attention from the first page to the last page in that book. I was impressed with Stephen King's work and this made me want to read more of his books. Since finishing The Shining(previous blog post), Misery (future blog post), and Carrie, it made me want to watch the movies and see if the movie lives up to the book.

Carrie is a teenage girl who is very quiet and to herself. She isn't the prettiest girl out there and people make fun of her often. She had a bit of a harsh life growing up in my opinion; she had a crazy and religious mother who made things hard for Carrie. Her whole neighborhood and her school knew that she wasn't normal and she was categorized as a freak. To add to everything else she has a power she has come to get use to. Her mind is a powerful thing and within the pages you see how she grows into someone so powerful. She creates a night to remember.

I would definitely recommend this book to friends and family. With that I would give this book a 3.8 out of 5, only because I wasn't a fan of the theme or plot but it doesn't mean I didn't like the book. I really did like the book and how it was written BUT it wasn't my exact favorite ideal read. I normally don't read books with those kind of plots. Regardless of that I enjoyed the book and I have more Stephen King books to review.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post.

Book Review # 7 - Stephen King - "Doctor Sleep"

This post will probably be the shortest blog yet. When I finished The Shining, I saw that there was a sequel to it and I had to read it. When I was able to stop by the library where I live, I went straight to the fiction section under King. When I finally found King I found what I was looking for and more. Doctor Sleep, is a bigger book than I expected.

The next day I started to read while heading to work. Let's say I couldn't put it down. I carried that big book around with me all the time. It took up a lot of space in my bag but I made it work.

I forgot how long it took me to get through the entire book but it wasn't a long time. I literally fell in love with this book and I even bought the hardcover copy. I could go back and reread it and normally I don’t  like to reread books.

If you liked The Shining, then you'd like this book. Doctor Sleep, follows Danny into adult hood. He finds someone else with the same ordeal as him and it takes you on a trip into their minds and what goes on. I really enjoyed this book a lot and I wouldn't mind reading it all over again.

Now for an honest rating I'd have to give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. Kudos to you Stephen King for yet another amazing book. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves books.
